An industrial screw chiller is a type of refrigeration system used in various industries to cool process equipment or large spaces. It consists of a compressor, evaporator, condenser, and expansion valve.
The chiller works by removing heat from a fluid (such as water or a mixture of water and glycol) through the process of vapor compression. The compressor compresses the refrigerant gas, raising its pressure and temperature. The hot, high-pressure refrigerant then moves to the condenser where it releases heat and transforms into a high-pressure liquid. The high-pressure liquid refrigerant passes through the expansion valve, which lowers its pressure, causing it to expand and cool down rapidly. The cold, low-pressure refrigerant enters the evaporator, where it absorbs heat from the fluid being cooled, causing the fluid to cool down. The cycle then repeats as the refrigerant returns to the compressor.
